Years before the emergence of a soon to be musically gifted, spirited and talented artist. Destiny was beginning to unravel and lay out the foundations of an unforseen, promising future... in which at the time was unimaginable... Even before Cesar Cortes Jr. inhaled his first lung-full of air, music was already running malevolenlty through his nerves.. Descending from families with musical & poetic backgrounds Ceze already had the foundations of a musical artist. The only ingredient left in this recipe is life. The experiences that would shape him into such a spirited and distinct individual. Cesar was born on the early morning of January 25, 1985 in Vineland, New Jersey. A city highly populated with a variety of hispanics, mainly with Puerto Rican descent. Vineland is a city full of hispanic heritage & culture with its Puerto Rican festivals, parties and parrandas. This was much of what Ceze came to witness in his early years. By 1 1/2 the toddler was beginning to catch on to songs heard from Univision and Telemundo. He was singing merengue and salsa songs at the age of 3 and even had his first interview recorded on tape. When it came time for elementary school Cesar was the lead singer in his school choir even singing the national anthem for the school’s independence day ceremonies. The next 4 years of his life would mainly be spent on piano & vocal lessons, singing at school, in church and with his father during performances on stage with his merengue/salsa group, “Proyecto X”. Cesar already knew his purpose by this time and would keep with this same motivation for the rest of his life... By the end of the 8th grade Cesar had transformed into “Ceze”. At this point he was playing drums for his school’s band and playing “timbales” at church and parties as well. At 14 years old he created his first group called “Sabor Latino”, and as Ceze progressed he wanted to evaluate how he would compare to the rest in the city, so therefore, he competed in numerous talent shows demonstrating his uniqueness to all witnesses. It has been since that time that Cesar has been a dominating performance everywhere he goes... Dancing and singing merengue, salsa, hip-hop, R&B, and reggaeton at such a young age left every audience in awe, admiring the fact that such a special talent had sprouted within this concrete jungle. Many throughout the community knew that Ceze was a singer by the time he entered high school, but little did he know that these would be the most emotionally and mentally influencial times of his life, trials that would mold him into the singer that he is today.. Dealing with problems at home forced the young teen to search for other means of rebelling and getting away from the stress... Soon after, Ceze wrote his first song and the rest is history.. The streets became an outlet for this juvenile, involving himself with others that had the same “ live life to the fullest, there’s no tomorrow” mentality. Walking the blocks of the inner city surviving, and being part of gang fights, and many other criminal activities. Ceze was viewing life in a completely different perspective, being victim to harsh experiences in romance, friendship, family, and street life would manifest him with the unrelenting, burning desire to excel over all obstacles, doubts, and hardships that life has to offer. A pursuit for perfection only overshadowed by the story of such a passionate and spirited young song writer with the unique ability to transform misery, love, anger, and happiness all into an extraordinary vocal flow with true to life lyrics and meanings. Many from around the area call him “cantante”, from which came the phrase.. “ El cantante del callejon”, and it stuck. The start of a new rennaisance in music has begun.... Años antes del comienzo, de pronto surgía un talentoso artista musical, y espiritual. El destino comenzaba a desenredarse y preparar la fundación de un futuro prometido e imprevisto que para ese tiempo no se podía imaginaraun antes que Cesar Cortes Jr. pudiera inhalar su primer aire al nacer, la música corría por sus venas descendencia de familias con talentos musicales y poéticos, “CEZE” tenía la fundación de un artista musical. El único ingrediente que queda en esta receta es la vida. Las experiencias de la vida que lo formarían en un individuo espiritual y distinto. Cesar nació temprano en la noche el día 25 de Enero del 1985 en la ciudad de Vineland, New Jersey. Un pueblo sumamente poblado con una variedad de hispanos, mayormente descendencia Puertorriqueña. Vineland es un pueblo lleno de herencia y cultura hispana con su Festival Puertorriqueño, Festival Latino Americano, y muchas parrandas de la música autóctona de Puerto Rico. Esto fue de lo que Cesar fue testigo a su temprana edad. A la edad de año y medio cesar comenzaba a contagiarse con las canciones que escuchaba por las cadenas de televisión Telemundo y Univisión. Cesar cantaba merengue y salsa a la edad de 3 anos y aun tuvo su primera entrevista grabada en cinta. Cuando llego el tiempo de participar en el coro de la escuela elementar, cesar fue el cantante cabecilla del coro y se le otorgo cantar el himno nacional de los Estados Unidos en la celebración del día de la independencia. En los próximos cuatro años de su vida, mayormente, los paso tomando lecciones de piano y canto, participando en los coros de las escuelas, coros de iglesias, y con su padre en tarima cuando Cesar Sr. cantaba salsa, merengue y boleros con orquestas locales. Cesar ya sabía su propósito y mantuvo la misma motivación por el resto de su vidaa finalizar su octavo grado cesar se transformo en “CEZE”. A este punto de su vida,”CEZE” Tocaba los timbales (LP’S) para la banda de la escuela, en la iglesia, y otras actividades. A la edad de 14 años el creo su primer grupo “Sabor Latino”, y tras su progreso “CEZE” quiso evaluar cómo podía compararse con otros de talentos en el pueblo; entonces por esa razón comenzó a competir en numerosas presentaciones de talentos artísticos demostrando su singularidad a sus oyentes. De hecho “CEZE” continuaba dominando sus presentaciones a lo largo bailando, cantando merengue, salsa, hip-hop, r & b, y reggaetón que dejaba a su audiencia impresionada, admirando su talento tan especial que crecía a pesar de sus adversidades. A través de la comunidad “CEZE” ya era conocido como un cantante antes de ingresar a la escuela superior, pero lo poco que él se imaginaba era que esto eran los tiempos más influyentes mentalmente y emocionales en su vida, pruebas que lo formarían el cantante que es hoy. Lidiando con los problemas en su casa el joven fue forzado a buscar otras maneras para rebelarse y mantenerse fuera de estréspronto después, “CEZE” escribió su primera canción y el resto es historiapara este juvenil la vida diaria se convertía en un orificio de salida, envolviéndose con otros que sentían lo mismo “viviendo la vida a plenitud, como si no hubiera un mañana” la mentalidad. Caminando las calles del centro del pueblo sobreviviendo, siendo parte en pleitos de gangas, y otras desobediencias con la ley. “CEZE” miraba su vida completamente de una perspectiva diferente. Siendo una víctima de experiencias severas en el romance, la amistad, la familia, y su vida diaria, lo prepararía para enfrentar el implacable ardiente deseo para sobresalir sobre todos los obstáculos, dudas, y adversidades que ofrece la vida. En Búsqueda de la perfección solamente opacada por esta historia tan apasionada, este joven con la semilla de valores espirituales, un compositor con la habilidad única de transformar la miseria, el amor, el coraje, y la felicidad, lo puso todo en un extraordinario flujo vocal con liricas que expresan el verdadero significado de la vida. Muchos del área le llaman “Cantante” de ahí nació la frase... “El cantante del callejón”, y se pego. De esto nace el comienzo de un nuevo renacimiento musical.
