Ham San is an over the top bay area artist, known for his bedroom shock raps, fun party songs, and twisted instrumentals.
L Hamilton "Ham San" Gordon Jr, was born in Oakland, CA on the 28th of November, 1987. At the age of 4 he began taking piano lessons, but appalled his teachers by his outward disdain for their lesson plans. Ham loved to bang chords rhythmically as opposed to the free-flowing style taught by his classically trained teachers. Due to his insubordinance, his mother quickly discontinued the lessons. Nevertheless, Ham continued to teach himself piano, as well as a vast array of other instruments. By the time Ham was 12, music softwares had began to grow out of their infancy, and with the use of computers, Ham's music and style began to blossom too. By the time Ham attended Sir Francis Drake High School in 2002, he had already made connections with many bay area hip-hop legends, and started gaining notoriety for his mixtape singles such as "Pop Pop Yee" and "Let It Wobble". Since 2006, Ham has produced a plethora of hits, using his obscure and rhythmically oriented compositional skills, and jumpy patterns in his lyrics. Many compare his production work to Rick Rock, Timbaland, or Pharell Williams (if they did a number of hallucinogenic drugs in a jungle). Similarly, his rhymes can be paralleled to those of Busta Rhymes, Ludacris, and/or Obie Trice. Ham continues to live in Oakland, CA today, and is anticipating dropping his first album in mid 2010. www.hamiltongordon.com www.myspace.com/ham
