Artist Information Biography A southern upbringing and Elvis, Merle and Conway and Cash always on the radio was how Country music became my musical core. I played drums and sang all through high school but chose the military career instead of music. I served 11 years as an Army Officer, won the Bronze Star Medal for actions in the Gulf War, and worked in the corporate world, before I started writing songs about a year ago. Unexpectedly, lyrics and melodies were just there and I just had to get them out. It wasn't until I received what I am convinced was a sign from above that I realized I had to follow this new path to wherever it may lead. Living in New York is a great experience but it can be scary at times. I was confronted by four guys late one night on the subway. All of a sudden, someone who I am convinced was my guardian angel intervened and before I could even even thank him; he was gone. What finally showed me that music was my path, was seeing my guardian angel on the subway again recently. He was sleeping on one of the benches in the same subway car that I was in. and didn't even say a word. I had to see was that cradled in his arms, like he was protecting his most prized possession, was a beat up, worn out and well used old electric guitar! At that moment I knew. The next day, I received a songwriting contract offer. So here I am. Thanks so much for stopping by

Lyrics
Don't Ya Knock It 'Til Ya Try It written by: Weston James Copyright 2008 Weston James Music Lyrics VERSE I I was sittin there having a cold one when she walked in She was a high class woman, but lookin like she wanted to commit a high society sin So I gathered up every bit of courage that I had inside me And then I aaddled on up next to her and asked if she would oblige me LIFT I said ma'am please excuse me, I know i ain't no high class guy, And I can tell that you probably like your men wearing suits But I sure think you're a cutie, I ain't rich but I sure wish you would do me A favor and let me twirl you around just once in these cowboy boots CHORUS So ma'am could ya take a chance, and would ya give this old cowboy a dance And maybe I could show ya what life's like on the other side Don't knock it til ya try it, who knows ya might even like it, You might even come to understand this blue collar pride, Don't ya knock it til ya try it. VERSE II Well that was over ten years ago, when I made her my wife. And we love to laugh and talk about that night and how it changed both our lives She wanted to find out if love could be about more than money. All it took was my old cowboy boots now ain't that funny? LIFT When I said ma'am please excuse me, I know I ain't no high class guy, And I can tell that you probably like your men wearing suits But I sure think you're a cutie, I ain't rich but I sure wish you would do me A favor and let me twirl you around just once in these cowboy boots CHORUS So ma'am could ya take a chance, And would ya give this old cowboy a dance And maybe I could show ya what life's like on the other side Don't knock it til ya try it, who knows ya might even like it, You might even come to understand this blue clollar pride, Don't ya knock it til ya try it. Don't ya knock it til ya try it. You might even come to understand this blue collar pride, Don't ya knock it til ya try it.
