Jacques Brel inspired ballad, with a gradual build. Not my usual style these days I must say.

This is a one-man studio-based outfit which has two streams. One is to produce songs, with vocals, in a fairly conventional format, that you might expect a "real" band to play. The other is to produce instrumentals with experimental electronic sounds, the stranger the better, but hopefully still appealing. I love that virtual world full of beauty and weirdness. Perhaps that's where I'll go when I die.

Story behind the song
It's a real wedding song. For two people who had already been together a long time.
Lyrics
Twenty six years have gone by like a dream Gone like the ships that we watched from our window Far far away are the lights of the harbours we visited Twinkling and calling us back But we have to move on, never twice the same thing Every moment forever, every picture I have I'm with you, I'm with you They ask me do I take this woman? I do. No more discussion, no falling asleep on the job Time is precious, the effort, the sadness may kill us But life is so complex, we can't let it slip by That's why I'm with you Bright eyes saw magical jewels in the dust Now a soft breeze gently blows through the window Who would have thought over such a rough landscape Doldrums and storms, meadows and battlefields One tiny carriage still rattling across the stones Into the setting sun, onward we go I'm with you, I'm with you You might say I'm hopeless without you: it's true Diversion, disruption, a major production Without a director, no doctor, no rector The plot falls to pieces The play is the thing for a king You're my queen, I'm with you I'm with you, I'm with you They ask me do I take this woman? I do. All I can see through the woods and the trees Is the blue sky. We float like a vapour; we vanish The ripples subside, there is silence. We are but a memory; don't forget I'm with you I'm with you, I'm with you If I have to eat, then it's dinner for two No more starvation, no talk of salvation for personal gain Just dissolve in the rain We can watch the apocalypse lighting the skies From now on to the end I'm with you.
