a bit of political commentary. sometimes, no matter how hard i try to think positively about our (better than most) system of government, i can't help but use my constitutional right to speak freely about it.

Story behind the song
before the LAST presidential election, i thought, for sure, the electorate would rise out of their critical slumber and oust a government that seemed, clearly, to be disinterested in the common wo/man. i might not have been wrong, had the various machinations of electronic voting machines, stacked supreme court, whipped media, etc., etc., not been precisely manipulated.
Lyrics
Blood In The Water -- Jim Dyer I smell blood in the water. I smell sulfur in the air. It bleeds and blends within itself. It shudders and becomes aware. In these times of trouble, you'll give up everything you've got, and by the time you pay attention, you won't remember what you've lost. In these times of plenty, there's lots of pushin' goin' on -- one side pressed against another to determine which has won. In these times of triumph, bringing down pain and disease, we can live our expectations running in place while others flee. Refrain In these times of horror, watching towers disappear, then foreign cities in destruction -- are we embracing hope or fear? In these times of knowledge, where it's all within our grasp, can we trust the truth we gather when facts green and brown like grass? You can't be forgotten when your voice is clearly heard. Don't let confusion distract you. Open up and speak your words. Refrain.
