Larry Lauer
I've been dabbling in songwriting for about 25 years, ever since I started playing in a band. In the past few years I've gotten a little more serious about it and I enjoy the the idea of creating something from my experiences. Whether personal or from an external source, I like to see my thoughts go from paper to a recorded product. I've been having a lot of fun trying to produce my own music. I'm not into performing my own music so much anymore, but I would like to see it get out there for others to hear.
Story behind the song
A relationship that has ended.
Lyrics
Verse 1
You Wake up in the morning with pieces of a dream
Still clinging in your mind their just hiding in between
The fact and fiction that your used to, but it seems
Their making no sense to you, but how long has it been
Chorus
You can’t go back, once it’s gone, you can’t go back
You can’t go back, it’s been to long, you can’t go back
You can look for years to find the flame that you captured deep inside
But the spark won’t light a second time, so it’s time to realize
You can’t go back, you can’t go back
Verse 2
So many times you talked about, what will be in time
Shared a laugh and glass of wine trying to feel that lovin’ sign
Looking for a colored rose in a stormy gray skyline
Knowing that there is no way to make the clock rewind
Chorus
You can’t go back, once it’s gone, you can’t go back
You can’t go back, it’s been to long, you can’t go back
You can look for years to find the flame that you captured deep inside
But the spark won’t light a second time, so it’s time to realize
You can’t go back, you can’t go back
Instrument Break
Chorus
You can’t go back, once it’s gone, you can’t go back
You can’t go back, it’s been to long, you can’t go back
You can look for years to find the flame that you captured deep inside
But the spark won’t light a second time, so it’s time to realize
You can’t go back, you can’t go back
