Story behind the song
The song talks about how life used to be in the old neighborhood. You didn't have to worry about crime, drugs, worrying about if your child will get shot committing a crime. We have seen a lot of small country towns turning into the big cities and portraying crime.
Lyrics
Chorus "If I could you know I would bring back the old neighborhood" I watched the country turn into the city, brothers killin' brothers, oh what a pity. I tell you. Chorus There was peace in the park, wasn't afraid of the dark. There was love in the air, people had time to care. I tell you. Chorus I watched a mother kiss her son good-bye, she outlived her son because the young brother used a gun. I tell you. Chorus
