Life is difficult when you're down.
Artist picture
Acoustic guitar-based music inspired by the ups and downs of life experience.
I've been playing guitar and singing for most of my life. The songs that I write draw from life experience, which makes each of them very special to me since they bring back memories of powerful events and feelings. I often call upon a couple of my buds to help add to my originals. You'll hear Billy on the second guitar and Steve on drums/percussion throughout the originals on this page. Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you enjoy my music.

Story behind the song
This is the first song that I wrote (April 2005). I wrote it while learning how to use recording software. I'd never recorded anything before, so I experimented with some drum and percussion loops. Vocals & Guitar: Brian O'Rourke
Lyrics
VERSE1: wake the day cup of coffee caffeination -- it's the only way hate the day we shared a coffee frustrations -- nothing more to say VERSE 2: thoughts and fears strength in numbers isolation -- it's the price I've paid through the tears begin to wonder resignation -- as your picture fades CHORUS: confidence thin as paper when I'm down I know it's not your fault consequence of fear and anger now you're gone I know it's not your fault VERSE 3: clear my head painful morning intoxication -- it's the easy way call you can't leave a message desperation -- it's the nights I hate VERSE 4: wake the day cup of coffee caffeination -- it's the only way someday we'll share a coffee conversation -- so much more to say
