Story behind the song
I wrote this song for a friend of mine who lost his wife who had a brain aneursym when their baby was just 3 months old. He is a musician in Nashville. His story touched me greatly. He raised the baby alone for awhile before he later remarried.
Lyrics
This kind of love never ends
Words and music by Tammy Edwards (c) 2001
He turns the handle, opens the door
Sets his guitar inside
Flips on the light
Takes a deep breath
Tosses his coat aside
She was always waiting there
Pretty blue eyes and golden hair
Then he remembers her smile
And thought she's gone for good
He lingers awhile...
Chorus
And he whispers her name again
A cry from his heart
To his love and his friend
Why did she have to go?
But he'll always know
This kind of love never ends
He see's her picture
Framed on the wall
Wiping the tears from his eyes
Recalling the day he asked her out
The day she became his wife
The hopes and dreams and moolit walks
Her sweet caress their midnight talks
Then he rememebers her smile
And though she's gone for good
He lingers awhile
Chorus
And he whispers her name again
A cry from his heart
To his love and his friend
Why did she have to go?
But he'll always know
This kind of love never ends
Bridge
Now he see's her in their babies eyes
Finds the strength to survive
And in their hearts she'll live on and on......
Chorus
And he whispers her name again
A cry from his heart
To his love and his friend
Why did she have to go?
But he'll always know
This kind of love never ends
