Story behind the song
The idea for this song started with the chorus. The words were something like:
"You are the Light, Lord! Light!
You are the Light, Lord! Light!
Lord, You are the Light!
Yes, You are the Light!"
Heh, not exactly great words - it's the same thing over and over again. But, that was basically what I had for quite a while. I edited the chorus somewhat as time went on and tried different verse ideas, but it took a while to get the song put together.
After I did get the song put together, though, it still wasn't as it is now. It underwent a revision in December of '07.
