Story behind the song
As mentioned on the description for 'Taiga', I messed up a bit with the titles on these. I had originally planned to name the other one 'Taiga', but this track was going to be titled 'Jungle' until I realized it might be mistaken as being a jungle track to my downloaders. I renamed it 'Congo' to avoid that altogether, but my mistake was that the 'Taiga' is a geological area of which there are many examples while the Congo is an example of a jungle or rainforest geological area, making the correlation between the two tracks imperfect. Not a big deal really, but when a stupid little mistake like that is made, that has a degree of permanence to it, I can't help but want to kick myself over it. This is probably my favourite of the handful of Rebirth acid tracks I've made regardless, just because it captures "being in a jungle" so well. I particularly liked the 909-kick rolls, I thought the groove was solid, I also enjoyed the conga melodies and the guttural elephant or gorilla type grumble sound (which happens to be a 303).
