A cover of the 'short' version of this masterpiece by Pink Floyd
Classic rock cover
Hello World!, I say WELCOME. I'm a 57 years old classic rock fan and musician. For the most part I only do covers of classic rock and folk songs but am known from slipping in an occasional ballad or instrumental here and there too.
Story behind the song
This is one song that literally haunted me in my early teenage years, I had recently begun to listen to rock and roll after a short stint in disco music and while at first I was driven away from Pink Floyd's music, it remained in my mind long enough to grab my attention and delve deeper into the Dark Side of The Moon... damn record still sounds as new almost 40 years after.
Lyrics
Money, get away,
Get a good job with good pay and your'e okay.
Money, its a gas,
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash.
New car, caviar, four star daydream,
Think I'll buy me a football team.
Money, get back,
I'm all right jack keep your hands off of my stack.
Money, its a hit,
Don't give me that do goody good bullshit.
I'm in the high-fidelity first class traveling set
And I think I need a lear jet.
Money, it's a crime,
Share it fairly but don't take a slice of my pie.
Money, so they say,
Is the root of all evil today.
But if you ask for a raise its no surprise that they're
Giving none away...
