Story behind the song
The original Where's Fantasyland? was the first song I ever recorded using a 4-track. I screwed up the line 'Johnny got a ball for Christmas' when I sang it, but liked the way it sounded. I decided to record this version with the same screw-up.
The motivation for the song came from watching kids get more and more messed up spending too much time on their computers or playing games. The basic premise is "Whatever happened to being a child?" The guitar solo is pretty much the same as the original version.
