Do It Yourself Alternative
Since receiving his first guitar at age 12 (a 1965 Silvertone) Ryan has been writing and playing music for his personal enjoyment for more than 30 years. After years of putting his music on assorted cassettes (and a 8 year layoff to take care of career and kids) Ryan put Pro Tools on an old computer in the back bedroom and began writing, playing and recording music again. It's a life-long hobby for him. Ryan plays guitar, bass and keyboards and uses a drum machine for the beats.

Story behind the song
I wanted to add an acoustic number to my songbook. I hit on this (in D-minor). To me, it has a feel of some Jewish music I've heard. I've always loved the song "Those Were the Days" by Mary Hopkin and I tried to add some of that mood to it. The words actually were inspired by a Sting lyric about politicians seeming like game show hosts. So, I wrote the bit about the world being a game show. The line, "One wrong move and you've lost" was inspired by the story of the father of my son's friend who died in a motorcycle accident recently. He was just out for a Sunday ride and a car pulled out in front of him. Boom, like that, he's gone.
Lyrics
One Wrong Move The world is one big game show Everything has a cost You never know where it's goin One wrong move and you’ve lost You hope to choose the right door You keep your fingers crossed And when you walk right through it One wrong move and you’ve lost Don’t feel so disconnected Or so unprotected Just take time to say You’ll find a better way One wrong move and you’ve lost Don’t feel so disconnected Or so unprotected Just take time to say You’ll find a better way One wrong move and you’ve lost The world is one big game show Everything has a cost You never know where it's going One wrong move and you’ve lost
