This is a very rough, preliminary scratch demo about the obvious things that make the title critters so popular... you can't go wrong with a song about a good ol' dog...
itty bitty city music

Story behind the song
Well, my pastor made a comment during a men's group meeting on Friday morning about dogs not thinking long on the deep things of life... and it just sort of all came together. My co-writer, Kevin Reardon (www.raghatmusic.com) pulled the tune together rather quickly, and this is the first draft... y'all's comments are more than welcome... g
Lyrics
DOGS (c) 2007 - G. Smith/K. Reardon --------------------------------------- Dogs don't ponder the deep things, They don't worry what their days may hold; They don't sweat the vet or the headlines, Or sweat about heaven or growin' old. They're content sleepin' under the front porch, Or out in the yard in the sun; They've got it all if they've got a ball, Or some woods where they can run... They're... man's... best... friend... To the... very end... A yawn and a stretch and they're ready to fetch... That's man's best friend... Dogs don't care about papers, They're not concerned about a pedigree; They ain't braggin' when their tongues are draggin' And that's all that matters to me. Dogs will scratch where-ever it itches, They're happy if you toss 'em a bone; They like to ride around with the window rolled down, And drink from the toilet if you'll leave 'em alone. Man's... best... friend... To the... very end... A yawn and a stretch and they're ready to fetch... That's man's best friend... Dogs might hide from the weather, Or snap if you get under their skin; They don't mean no harm with their tail waggin' charm, They've got no concept of original sin. Dogs don't ponder the deep things, They don't worry what their days may hold; They don't sweat the vet or the headlines, Or sweat about heaven or growin' old. Man's... best... friend... To the... very end... A yawn and a stretch and they're ready to fetch... That's man's best friend... Man's... best... friend... To the... very end... A yawn and a stretch and they're ready to fetch... That's man's best friend...
