A song telling of various ways in which we (that is, those people who are saved) are different from the world because we are the children of God. We're each made new in Christ by God's great power and love the moment we are saved.

Story behind the song
This was the first song of mine to have a guitar part (although not the first song I wrote). I actually don't remember why I decided to write this song or how the idea for the song came about. I do remember, though, that I changed the guitar strum pattern for the ending of the song while at church and also that the verses (well, there was only one, at the time) were 3-line verses. So, the song was like this:
Amidst the darkness, we are the light,
Amidst the hopelessness, we are the hope,
Amidst the turmoil, we are the joy!
Then it would go to the chorus.
