My new spectral analysis patch sends osc messages. Spectral events can trigger either single note events, patterns or really anything. I already have experimented with dynamic event triggering across platforms, so visualizations are also simple to generate based on this analysis. at the core it's driven by 539 constant q bandpass filters, arranged 50 per octave, logarithmically spaced. the reproducing grain is a sample taken from the song itself.
"Animals Should Wear Clothes" is a free-jazz album I recorded 3 years ago, featuring me on a huge well mic'ed concert grand piano. i got bow the thing with fishing line! I'm considering remixing the entire album and releasing it. There would probably be entirely new compositions on the album as well.
