Story behind the song
In the mid 60s there was a song competition on CBC radio and I made up this piece to enter as also I entered several that I'd already written sending in words and music. But it didn't win nor did any of my others and all were eventually returned to me.
Lyrics
I’m not much good at football, I’m not too fond of swimmin’
My all absorbin' passion is for women, women, women.
I love to be beside them. I cannot do without them.
I love them short; I love them tall.
I love them big; I love them small.
I love them one; I love them all. I love them. Yes, I love them.
I loved her. She was a tall brunette.
I loved her the very day we met.
I love her so very much and yet
I see somebody else I fancy better.
I never go to lectures. I skip the ev’nin’ classes
For all the idle time I have I spend it with the lasses.
I love to be beside them. I cannot do without them.
I love them short; I love them tall.
I love them big; I love them small.
I love them one; I love them all. I love them. Yes, I love them.
I love her - she is so small and neat
With good looks and disposition sweet.
Her kisses are very hard to beat
And yet there’s someone else I fancy better.
I love them dark and sultry; I love them oriental;
I love them light and full of fun, or deep and sentimental.
I love to be beside them. I cannot do without them.
I love them short; I love them tall.
I love them big; I love them small.
I love them one; I love them all.
I love them. Yes, I do.
And then I saw her across a crowded floor.
Such magic, I’d never felt before.
My one love, now and for evermore
We’ll make each other happy ever after.
Oh, how she loves me! So much in love!
