Quick song made up to demo Line 6 Spider Valve 112. Rhythm guitar is a stock 2003 highway one using the neck pickup. The 2nd guitar line is a 2006 Squier '51 using both pickups with the humbucker tapped.
This is my musical sketchbook, if you will. Most of the songs here are rough ideas or recordings to test out different gear, settings, or whatever else musical might come to mind. I'm a rhythm guitarist, so you won't find blistering leads or odd scales. There are people far better equipped to provide that than I am. I'm just a guy who knows some chords, has what I'd like to believe is a decent sense of melody, and likes to get ideas down before I forget them. Enjoy. If you want to leave a comment, do so. As someone on one of thegearpage.net said, "iron sharpens iron", so don't be afraid to tell me what you think...good and bad. I can take it. I'm searching for a new voice, and sometimes, a good, constructive criticism is just the spark one needs to find what they are looking for.

Story behind the song
Guitar(s) Used: 2003 stock Highway One - neck position 2006 Squier '51 - both pickups, humbucker coil tapped This is a work in progress. Of the first three clips I've posted, I think this song is the most interesting. So, I'm picking it to experiment with mic placement. I thought the little bit at the beginning of each cycle of the verse could use something else. At first, I added a harmony guitar line, but felt it become overdone after the first couple of times you hear it, so I replaced it with a chord. I make slight changes to the 2nd guitar line each time I record this and work out the changes as I record. So, occasionally, you'll hear a slight hiccup. Since I'm not recording these to necessarily impress anyone, I'm ok with the hiccups. It will eventually work itself out. What I really need to do is stop doing so much with the rhythm guitar, as that seems to be the source of some of my hiccups. I'll throw in a little extra this and it will screw up the little extra that I throw in on the second guitar. I was told this was a creepy sounding song, but I don't see how. I wrote a simple bassline for it that I recorded but my software didn't save it. I will record that after the game today.
