Story behind the song
It's a musical tribute to the King, Elvis the pelvis Presley. There's a bit of fun in there... but we loved him. He had so much soul, merged black and white music and wasn't afriad to shake his thing! Great man. I loved Elvis!
Lyrics
Elvis is not dead. He might have loved peanut butter and jelly, but he could really shake his thing. Who says the king is dead? Elvis is not dead. He hasn't gone for very long, just to change the strings on his guitar, Leather frills and rhinestone guitars, take me down to Sideburn City, Elvis didn't need to do no drugs, he was psychedelic man, Elvis quiff, Elvis lip, Elvis leg, Elvis hip. Elvis fought the GI Blues with rock and roll, and blue suede shoes, Fat or thin, he was the King, hipster flares, uh-huh, oh yeahs, Tell Colonel Tom and his hangers on, you're back for good and you're number one, In his kingdom Memphis Tennessee he rocked for you and he rolled for me. Who says the king is dead? Elvis is not dead. Well, its a one for the huh, two for the wooh, uh-huh, oh yeah. Carl Cape: acoustic guitar, vocals, harmonica. Ally Lee, electric guitar. Harry Fox, drums. Si-Fi, bass. Inspiration from Elvis. Backing vocals: Carl, Harry and Simon.
