Here's my blog!!! Enjoy the read!!! http://closer-than-your-heartbeat.blogspot.com/ Hey, y'all! I've found CCLI to be a very useful tool. And it's the only way songwriters are paid by churches for their loving labor:) (and, yes, churches are trusted to record which songs are used!!!!) I'd like to encourage my songwriting friends to join CCLI and keep the records up-to-date...the songs I've received royalties for were not my favorite songs...or voted most likely to succeed!!! They are simple songs of faith!!! Your reward in Heaven will be great...yes...the scripture does say that... but it also says something about being worthy of your hire!!! It's ok to receive cents/per song/per use...it's ok to reCEIVE that blessing!!!! CCLI's Vision: To establish a strong communication network serving the Body of Christ, which enables the dispensing of comprehensive and valuable informational, inspirational resources, both primary and secondary in origination. CCLI's Mission Statement: To encourage the spirit of worship through music to the local church collectively and to Christians individually, so that they may enhance their worship expression spontaneously, conveniently, affordably, and legally. Here are some songs I have listed with CCLI...the lyrics are available through CCLI. I am working on posting all of these songs here on shoutlife. www.ccli.com Arise And Shine (c)2006 Eva J. Story behind the song
I wrote this song the week my father was placed in a nursing home. It was a hard week for my mother. She had been his only caregiver for the 7 yrs he has been struggling with alzheimers and throat cancer. The night the Lord gave me this song, Moma couldn’t walk because of severe hip pain. She was taken to the hospital, and released the next day. (as of 8-14-06 she’s walking fine, with a cane.) God used Moma in my life in many ways, but I can definitely sum it up by saying “Moma taught me to walk.” Daddy was usually late for Sunday School, so I’d wait and walk with him , just a couple of blocks, to church. I clearly recall reaching up to hold his hand as we sang “I’ll Fly Away”…he knew all the verses, and he taught them to me, singing the same one over and over. He’ll never know this side of Heaven what an impact he made in my life, but once again, it seems adequate to say “Daddy taught me to sing.”
Lyrics
A Long Goodbye Copyright 2006 Eva Wilson V1 Moma needs help to walk But she doesn’t complain She’s lookin’ out for others As she tries to hide her pain The days are long, the nights are short As she passes the time It’s been a long, hard season Been a long goodbye Chorus 1 Moma taught me to walk...To walk to the Lord Moma taught me to walk...To walk with the Lord Moma taught me to walk...To walk for the Lord Moma taught me to walk V2 Daddy’s mind is almost gone He lost his voice, too He can’t walk or talk or even hum But I can almost hear his song, Can you? Daddy’s strength is fadin’ But you still can see him smile He’s almost ready to go on Home Been a long goodbye Chorus 2 Daddy taught me to sing…To sing to the Lord Daddy taught me to sing…To sing with the Lord Daddy taught me to sing…To sing for the Lord Daddy taught me to sing bridge (fade) Knowin' Moma can’t stand, I’ll stand stronger tonight Knowin' Moma can't walk, I'll walk longer tonight Knowin' Daddy can’t talk, I’ll talk truer tonight Knowin' Dad can't sing, I'll sing with all my might It’s been a long goodbye
