A one-man-band with all-original material, writing, composing and performing since 2005.
My name is Evan Schafer. I am an independent (or "indie") musician with a strong grounding in traditional composition, but I like to think my material always has a unique and individual flair. I guarantee not being bored out of your gourd when turning on one of the records. I produce, mix, and engineer everything myself, and have done so since late 2005.

Story behind the song
Evan Schafer - acoustic guitar, vocals This was a very difficult song to record, but strangely a very easy song to play. I had a specific "image" in my mind of how I wanted this track to sound in the end result, and after slaving over a hot computer for literally hours on end, I finally got the final mix I wanted. Recording the vocals were hell, to put it frankly. After accidentally losing a few of the master tracks due to a power failure during the session, I redid the three-part-harmony vocal tracks for the choruses (which actually came out better than the first time through), as well as the difficult guitar solo which I had crafted for a stereo effect at the end of the song, each guitar line playing off of the other in the left and right speakers. Fortunately, later on I was able to retrieve the lost master tracks through a file recovery program, but I kicked myself for using only the re-recorded tracks and nothing from the original masters that I had grown to love before they went into the depths of cyberspace.
Lyrics
Nothing’s right anymore The time is wrong And everything’s gone And you don’t know where to stand You’ve found yourself in a little town And going back again To the place once loved You can’t forget You never really lived there I can see what you’re thinking I can see what you’re dreaming of I can see inside you ‘Cause nothing’s right anymore Trying to remember the days You walked alone Trying to forget the times You sat with those who loved you Seeing a tiny fluorescent light In your eyes Seems to catch on In your minuscule life again. I can hear what you’re saying I can see when you’re talking I can live while you’re breathing But nothing really changes I can see what you’re thinking I can see inside you I can see what you’re dreaming of ‘Cause nothing’s right anymore
