Political rambling. This is one of the first songs I wrote as a solo artist that I wanted to expand to more than standard instrumentation. Still working on it.

Story behind the song
I was coming up with some music, and feeling that itch to write a song. I asked a friend (who had just returned to Canada from Lebanon, during the war with Israel,) what to write about, and she said "how bombs suck" or something similar in effect.
Lyrics
On that day the sky was fire And the ground gave way The trees, they cried And the water flowed away The buildings fell, Crashing down like tidal waves And all the children lay In bed, screaming Why must the world be this way? Why must we destroy what we hate? Why must we watch us self destruct? I don't care what you say Bombs won't make it okay And I'm so tired of fighting Yeah I'm so tired of fighting For peace And all those planes flew overhead And the sirens wailed The rain began to pour Down with death showers Bodies lined the roads Amidst the twisted wreck How sad when concrete walls Outlive humanity Why must the world be this way? Why must we destroy what we hate? Why must we watch us self destruct? I don't care what you say Bombs won't make it okay And I'm so tired of fighting Yeah I'm so tired of fighting For peace I'm so tired of fighting So let's raise a toast To the end of the human race So let's raise our hands And shout out for the world to hear We will not, We will not We will not let them drop the bomb
