Story behind the song
Aaron wanted to write a song for me cause he was dealing with being in the room while I was mastering my Pipe Dreams record. It can be uneasy to be in the room, you may be forced to hear the same 18 seconds of music at ear-bursting volumes for 1/2 a day. So he emailed me this.....

I really liked it, but I felt that there was some words that I just wouldn't want to sing, like, "Cum" because I'm not Prince. And for melody sake I further edited the lyrics. I informed him before hand that I might have to rework/tweak things, so I think he accepted that-and if he wans't going to be cool with my changes then it wasn't going to be worth doing it at all.-That sounds mean, doesn't it.
As you can see, he titled it, "Useless Emotions" but I retitled it, "Damaged Goods" as it seemed more to the point and Iconic.
I recorded the demo and had these very intricate guitar echos that I pasted by hand into the song. Jule Slootbeek came in and added more guitars. Then at the end of 2005 I ripped open Native-Instruments' Reactor and reworked the song entirely, it became more simplified, my vocals less emo(cause I hate that shit) I like the song much better now. Unfortunately much of Aaron's verses were left out, and two verses were ultimately used.
