Soulful song about love and need...
Soul with tinges of blues, jazz and roots music
Bruce Williams-Songwriter, producer, performer...
Story behind the song
The song was created from two sets of lyrics I wrote, from two different time periods. I had come up with the music, and started leafing through my old journals in search of something to use. I stumbled onto some lyrics I had written about lovers meeting in the woods, and merged them with another song I had been working on...

I Need Your Love

Well maybe we can go down by the river
A secret place on the bank by the waterfall
Where lovers carve on the trees, things like, “I Love You Forever”…
Done back in a time when it didn’t matter at all
There was a time not too long ago
For miles, these hills here is all you could see
Near the county line an old logging road
That’s where I’d go before you knew me
Chorus:
I need your love, baby
I need your love…
I need your love, everyday
Solo
I play this out in my mind all the time
I go over it again and again
And I remember when you gave me the sign
And you became much more than a friend
I turned around one day and you were gone
Where did you go, you just disappeared
I often wonder how you’re getting along
And if you found your heart, well I never heard
Chorus
I need your love, baby
I need your love…
I need your love, everyday
