Lyrics
SUPERSTITION MOUNTAINS Am G D Am I’m tired and I’m lonely and I’m fed up with this trail G D Am Been riding since sunrise and I’m hungry as hell G D Am I come to the Superstition Mountains and that ends the trail G D Am Should I go on searching for riches or should I stay in hell? G D Am Been ten days in the mountains and I started hearing sounds G D Am Echoing off the giants which stood all around G D Am The sounds were as piercing as a saguaro could be G D Am Then all of a sudden it occurred to me… G D Am What was a lonely lost cowboy like me doing in the middle of a legend like this? G D Am What was a lonely lost cowboy like be doing in the middle of a legend like this? (LEAD BREAK -- 4 MEASURES) G D Am I loaded up my six gun and I started to head out G D Am But some kind of mystical feeling kept dragging me back down G D Am Deeper into the canyon where I know I ended my trail G D Am Was it for riches or was it for worse? Am G D Am All the gold is still there in the mountains Am G D Am All the gold is still there in the mountains Am G D Am All the gold is still there in the mountains Am G D Am All the gold is still there in the mountains Words & Music By: Darrell Heath 40 N.
