This is kind of a rediculous song. Its the first one I ever recorded so its a pretty rough sketch. I messed up on the timing a lot and its kind of all over the place. I was listening to a lot of Pantera at the time and trying out many time signatures
This song is about the silver cord that connects your soul to your body while having an out of body experience. I used the cord as a metaphor for our connection with others (friends, family, etc.). This song was written with the idea in mind that these cords can be cut and torn either by ourselves or the people at the other end. Our connection with others can be very fragile and sometimes may fade away for no reason. Sometimes when we try to fix these bonds no matter how hard we try, it just doesn't seem to work. No matter what though, you never want to lose sight of your cords...because then you'd be lost.
Of course this song has nothing to do with this idea, but if I did some vocals, this theme was set aside for this song.
