Story behind the song
An excerpt from the “The Citadel of Cynosure and Other Tales” Novelette: They glide into the brightly arrayed city below, lit by the radiant light of the solar powered Citadel. Antel smells fragrant flowers and feels an overwhelming bond with the spiritual presence of Life within. He is greeted by Meccadon and his life partner, Sindra, who are startled by this visitor and his winged creature. They offer food and drink while listening to Antel explain that they are being pursued by the wicked Bortarb. The compassionate Dreemurz offer their fortress as refuge from the forces of evil. Antel is ecstatic and must quickly return to the ship and guide his friends to this beautiful Citadel paradise. While those in the Citadel prepare for possible attack, Meccadon and Sindra accompany Antel to the edge of the pedestal. They must use the base entrance since the Winged-Astuers will not have enough time or strength to carry all of them the great height to the top opening. There are many dangers at the secret lagoon entrance and cavernous mazes where emotions are strained. Meccadon gives Antel a necklace with the Dreemurz' emblem engraved so that he will know the marked tunnels to take through the Vasse walls. Beware of the drugging needle leaves and the giant serpents that guard the thin cliff paths. He reminds Antel to rebuke any thoughts of fear and doubt, for they would be his true enemies. "Keep the Faith", are Meccadon's last words as Windmare lifts Antel above the pedestal. He turns around and gazes reverently at the paradise of his dreams and silently prays for the strength to return with Ashund and make this dream a reality. ….from the CD/Novelette, “The Citadel of Cynosure and Other Tales” © Whitman/Citadel Citadel® is a registered tradename - Used with permission - All rights reserved- www.citadelsongs.com, www.citadelband.com, www.citadelmusic.org
