A fixture on the St. Louis music scene for years with the late, lamented and as a host with (as well as its predecessor, the Noiseday Hootenanny), singer/songwriter Brian Andrew Marek is a man obsessed with sound and soul. showcases a wide range of his talents, as he handles all instrumentation (drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and several more exotic devices), vocals, songwriting, arrangement, engineering, mixing and production. A highly personal song cycle, finds Marek reclaiming the musical subtlety and dynamics that were lost amidst the din of Rocket Park's notoriously raucous performances., concocts amusingly-named side projects that few will ever hear (a small sampling: Tulip Sniper, Mr. Body Massage Machine, , Ethel the Tuba's Marihuana Brass, Gamera's Girlfriend, The Light Means Your Death) and, with , runs .

Story behind the song
Dreams of flight, dreams of escape. The old, weird, smelly Amerika. Road trip as head trip (the fun kind) and vice-versa. Dedicated to Fred Friction, whose influence was obvious from the moment I added abdominal percussion. Special thanks to Kate for convincing me that the harmony vocals were just fine in a psychological process called "bringing out my inner Neil Young". The guitar solo was improvised - usually a bad idea for me, but it worked this time (I actually stepped toward the mic to record it, like on an old bluegrass record).
Lyrics
I've got the feeling something's wrong there's something here that don't belong I've gotta know what's going on I'm gonna drag my burden down to New Orleans and put some mileage on my old blue jeans I'm gonna head on down that road 'til it turns to dust when you don't never jump the track the scenery begins to crack that's why I've filled my traveling sack I'm gonna drag my burden down to Arkansas and put some mileage on my old guitar I'm gonna head on down that road 'til it turns to dust I've got the feeling something's wrong there's something here that don't belong I've gotta know what's going on I'm gonna drag my burden down to New Orleans and put some mileage on my old blue jeans I'm gonna head on down that road 'til it turns to dust
