Marlene Palmer. Made from Scratch was my first demo album. I'm working on Still Scratchin' now.
I don't really have a "band" . It's just me and my guitar. I've asked a few friends to collaborate with me and these songs are the outcome.

Story behind the song
This song includes some local items about the San Pedro Valley, in the Cochise County area of Southern Arizona. Most of the year, the San Pedro River flows underground. When the monsoons fill the washes and the river, it may even flood. A Jackalope is a local animal Sky Islands are what we call our area mountains. Buffalo Soldiers were soldiers of color, stationed at Fort Huachuca .
Lyrics
SAN PEDRO VALLEY © Marlene Palmer 2007 I’m headin’ on back to the San Pedro Valley and this time I’m gonna stay I’ll saddle up.....and ride those rocky trails my pony, old Sal knows the way Don’t need much, just my kit and a bedroll No fancy trappin’s for Sal and Me We’ll make our camp by the Rio San Pedro under those cottonwood trees Chorus: San Pedro’s secrets haunt my memory (and the) Valley’s ghosts are mine The river’s stories flow under the sand Tellin’ tales of long ago times San Pedro’s long ago times I roast a jackalope o’er mesquite campfire While pickin’ on my old guitar The Sky Islands cast a cool sundown shade and I dream under Arizona stars Cochise still hides his mountain stronghold While the Butterfield Stage flies by Wyatt and Doc deal faro in Tombstone The Buffalo Soldiers still ride (Chorus) (outro) As God paints His dawn o’er the Dragoons for me I saddle back up on old Sally Set a spell just thinkin’ and sippin’ my coffee and thank God, for the San Pedro Valley
