A story of two men from different worlds that meet in a tragic event.
songwriter country christian lyrics lyricist writer bobby walker
I am a songwriter. Sounds simple enough, however, I do not play instruments. I am trying to learn to play, but until then I will have to simply post my lyrics and vocals. Hopefully, someone will love my songs enough to actually record them.

Story behind the song
This song was intended to be a patriotic song, which is where the part 'someone died for freedom' came from. However, when I tied it into the next line 'died for no reason' a completely different song was born. And I was just along for the ride as the ideas came pouring through.
Lyrics
Jimmy's got a good life A nice house and a good wife Tomorrow they'll bring the baby home Mikey's had a hard life Full of anger and strife Tonight he's on the streets alone Thier fates are intertwined Soon one of them will find A resting place beneath a stone CHORUS ONE: Tomorrow someone will die for freedom Here at home, he'll die for no reason Two men on a collision course Neither one knows the Lord And it's just another day Someone forgot to pray Jimmy's family goes to Sunday service They're always right here with us It's the in thing to do Mikey's down at the Corner Stop But he ain't there to shop Jimmy pulls in too He walks in, Mikey turns 'round The gun goes off, Jimmy goes down Suddenly, he knew CHORUS TWO: Today someone dies for freedom Here at home, he'll dies for no reason Two men on a collision course Neither one knows the Lord And it's just another day Someone forgot to pray Mikey stood there in shock The clerk called the cops Jimmy didn't feel so good They took Mikey out in cuffs The ambulance showed up Did the best they could The family had the funeral service Jimmy's wife makes a promise To always pray like she should CHORUS THREE: Yesterday someone died for freedom Here at home, he died for no reason Two men on a collision course Neither one knew the Lord And it's just another day Someone remembers to pray Yeah, it's just another day Someone remembers to pray
