Story behind the song
Written on Friday 15th September 2001. When numbness turned to anger and my need to reach out came in the form of a song.

Lyrics
I Won't Sing
I don't want to know your reasons,
I don't want to know your cause,
I don't want to hear explanations,
for your most unholy wars.
I know this time that words won't mend fences;
there are fences that words can't repair;
so go ahead and build your defences
and dig your ditches with prayer.
Chorus:
No, I won't sing, your songs of redemption
and I won't plead, for you to be saved.
No I, I won't cry - and I won't sing.
I don't want to see your faces,
I don't want to know your names,
I don't want to hear your excuses,
I won't play those games.
All I know is the picture you painted,
I have seen all I need to see;
don't ask me for my forgiveness,
you won't get that from me.
No, I won't sing, your songs of redemption
and I won't plead, for you to be saved.
No I, I won't cry - and I won't sing.
Bridge:
No I won't sing for you today,
I’ll reserve my tears for those you took away
And when I bring myself to kneel and pray
God help me, I won’t include you
Chorus:
I won't sing; your songs of redemption
and I won't plead, for you to be saved.
No I, I won't cry - and I won't sing
I won’t cry, no, I won’t sing.
