Story behind the song
The music for this song was pretty much written, I had some lyrics for it, but hadn't tracked the vocals. I had been having chest/throat problems for about six months. OK, so I'm a guy and don't fancy seeing the doctor. I figured it would go away on it's own, but it didn't. I couldn't sing more than a few lines before taking an hour break. The album had crawled to a stop because I couldn't track any vocals. Time turned to August, I was now having trouble even talking with the pain. Doctor dislikes aside, I finally went to an ENT specialist on a Thursday. He looked me over found a tumor in my throat and told me to get a CAT scan immediately. I went in for the scan the next day. I went home Friday and rewrote the words to this song. Though it was extremely painful, the events drove me to record the vocals that weekend. I got a call the following week. The tumor was benign and I had it removed a few months later. It took about two years before my voice came back in full.
