Sometimes the simplest phrase can have a double meaning... love lost and found again - do you ever wonder 'what if'?
Songwriter who writes from the soul... starting with lyrics and working into the melody. I write what I feel, believe, experience and see through others. I writ
Inspired by life's little moments, I'm just a Maine mom reaching out through words and music. My passion is songwriting and my goal is to 'strike a chord' with the write collaborators and/or artists who will want to bring my songs to the forefront. This is a new (and yet lifelong) experience for me... it's taken me a few years to search for someone to collaborate with, and the perfect fit was right in my backyard. I am forever thankful - to my friend and choir director Doug who believed in my music and worked with me to bring the perfect melody to "Joseph..." and to my family for not thinking I'm totally insane for following a dream I've had since my teenage years... and to my Lord for continuously teaching me how to grow.

Story behind the song
A rough draft of something I've been working on... a simple catch phrase turned around.
Lyrics
I know it’s hard on you sometimes You do your best to show me otherwise When I have these little doubts I have no reason to question Or to give in to suspicion You say I’m all that you need So maybe it’s just me Maybe it’s just me I’m the one you want to be with And you don’t feel the distance I imagine between us Maybe it’s just time It’ll take to leave doubt behind And maybe when you close your eyes, it’s not her you see Maybe it’s just me I know when life stood between us When good intentions couldn’t heal us And we took our separate roads She was a friend that helped you through She was the answer I’d been for you Did you let her go completely When you came back to me? Maybe it’s just me I’m the one you want to be with And you don’t feel the distance I imagine between us Maybe it’s just time It’ll take to leave doubt behind And maybe when you close your eyes, it’s not her you see Maybe it’s just me I know we’re on the right track And it’s foolish to look back And worry that you’re thinking about then And wonder if you wonder how she’s been Maybe it’s just me When it’s late and you’re not home And I can’t reach you on the phone, then you walk in the door Maybe I won’t pray that you don’t need to find her And the seasons of time will let the past simply be Maybe it’s just me I’m the one you want to be with And you don’t feel the distance I imagine between us Maybe it’s just time And maybe when you close your eyes... 2007 © Words and music by Janine Talbot
