Standing in the Middle music in Eugene & Corvallis, Oregon alternative, blues, folk, jazz, rock, country and classical band
Music is created from some form of anxiety: the desire for love (lust), the comfort of a romantic relationship, the pain of losing a romance, the pain of losing a friend to death, and many others. Standing in the Middle is a project that is dedicated to performing music that exposes multiple levels of relationships, hardships, terrors and beauty. Our anxiety is to create and display snapshots of humanity, to offer possible hints of the eternal, to provoke thought and contemplation, or sometimes just to have a little playful fun with the musical possibilities. With this as our goal we believe that we can always create music that is complete in itself: the music stays tuned to the content, the content stays tuned to the music, and we will stay in-tune to both. Lyrics
One thing I know, one thing I got Is a love that has destroyed my blind spot to see That I should be happy with nothing One thing I hear, one thing I see Is nobody worries that much about me But if I cared do you think I'd sing About this summer of love Do you ever wonder, what makes this world go 'round Think to yourself "why am i stuck in this stupid little town?" Don't you consider that there is more to life than this While you pardon with a kiss Well let me tell you what I think about this Summer of Love How many times has something come along To lighten your heart but steal your pride Deep down inside you've asked yourself Why do I know but do not follow And you scream in regretful pain "why is this happening again?" Well let me tell you what I think about this Summer of Love One thing I know, one thing I got Is a love that has destroyed my blind spot to see That I should be happy with nothing One thing I hear, one thing I see Is nobody worries that much about me But if I cared do you think I'd sing About this summer of love I see us all just sitting in the breeze Wonderin' nothin' not worrying about a thing I've got my love you've got your's too While thinking about livin' in Kalamazoo My skin has burned, her love has churned, I'm even thinking about getting a perm Just to see how stupid I can look Sometimes I wonder what I think of So let me tell you what I dream of That we all could be thinking about this Summer of Love Standing in the Middle - http://www.standinginthemiddle.com
