Story behind the song
Phil’s Living Room - recorded in my roommate Phil’s living room. Im on drums, backward slide bass, and tambourine. My other roommate Ian is playing a woodblock, and a snare with the snares turned off so it goes “bonk”. Then I forgot about it for years. When I was remixing stuff in the audio sweetening room at the Weather Channel, I discovered it again. They had a VERY high quality Sony C90 microphone, and I had my Martin Backpacker guitar, so I recorded some bitchen chords, and solo’d on top of it as I laid it to DAT. I really love this song. I love the ambience, the groove, -everything. -it sounds live.
