Story behind the song
most of my good songs were inspired by one thing or another---but this, one of my favourite songs, just came out of the blue. pardon the tremble in the voice...sometimes, i cry while singing this.
Lyrics
"the rescue" written by kince, 05212002 walking along, she finds her way on this narrow path of chalk and clay she stops to pick up a familiar stone the one last marker she left all alone she's obviously been here some time before but she's got no strength left in her anymore she can't define her coordinates giving in, she sits and waits ...and she wails, "little prince, come rescue me save me from insanity take your hand and reach for mine and i'll be forever thine... "save me..." she picks herself up and tries to stand trying to make her way on shifting sand he watches her stumble twice and fall and suddenly she starts sinking in it all and she cries, "little prince, come rescue me save me from insanity take your hand and reach for mine and i'll be forever thine... "save me... save me..." |instrumental| he looks at her and sadly smiles, the distance between them extends thousands of miles she begs him desp'rately for help to which he sadly just shakes his head and he says, "little girl, i can't help you my hands are tied in ropes i can't undo but i can jump in and join you sink then we'll be together; now, what do you think? "what do you think?" |soft instrumental to build-up| "little girl, i can't help you my hands are tied in ropes i can't undo but i can jump in and join you sink then we'll be together; now, what do you think? "little girl, i can't save you... but i can jump in and join you... what do you think? "what do you think? "save me..."
