Story behind the song
i wrote this song for my ex-boifriend. i should have written it before we shook hands and called it quits, but the right inspiration only came after... i think the song pretty much tells it all. i know the lyrics seem so scatter-brainedly put together, but there's a reason for that. the only thing you probably won't understand are the "pages"... that's a reference to my journal, in which he forbid me to write of him because i let other people read it. this was a first-try rough scratch on the computer.
Lyrics
(there are two versions of this song, hence the brackets "[]") "worlds apart" written by kince, 02022003 you seek to learn but i've passed these stages long before my hands start to burn i get [lost in/stuck to] these pages more and more turn a page see the truth see what lurks beneath the shadows of my doubts see the frustration on the corners of my mouth you try to understand me but you can't see we are worlds apart so, why are we still each other's? tell me why we even bother we are worlds apart though it was good while it lasted i think it's time we let this story end... [you've got/you seek] ideals but my feet are planted on the ground romantic fantasies [these aren't/are not] what turns my world around [so] turn a page [and] read our lives we live ignoring all the differences we share we live, uncompromising even our own air is this how it must be? can't you see--- we are worlds apart so, why are we still each other's? tell me why we even bother we are worlds apart though it was good while it lasted i think it's time we let this story end oh, we're worlds apart so, why are we still each other's? why do we even bother? [oh, we're/we are] worlds apart though it was good while it lasted i think it's time we let this story end... [i think it's time this ends... i think it's time this ends...]
