THE MINSTREL
VERSE 1
All I’ve got to my name is the clothes I’m standing in
Some change and my faithful old guitar
I write my life in song as I go along
Chasing my elusive lucky star
VERSE 2
I sing ‘bout what I’ve seen in the places where I’ve been
The things that make me laugh or make me sad
The people that I’ve known, the towns I’ve called home
Memories of times good and bad
CHORUS
I’ve got rhymes to amuse, ballads and blues
Serenades and lullabys and themes
I’ve got songs to be heard, life in music and words
I’m the minstrel and I will sing your dreams
VERSE 3
There are times I think I’ve made it, find the sweetest song and play it
Everything in closest harmony
But then the rhythm goes wrong, I blame the singer not the song
And move on to another melody
VERSE 4
They say life is for the livin’, love is for the givin’
Had my share of both, sometimes got them wrong
But pleasure or pain, they’re the refrains of
The melodies I write into a song
