originally this was going to be a break in a set i'm working on. unfortunately i didn't bother calculating how long the final clip would be, and it turned into its own track. i wasn't expecting something so coherent either... a happy accident.
here's what it is:
a kick drum sample created in my 'stomp' application (1 sec) -->
gverb reverb processing in audacity (6 sec) -->
haar wavelet transform (6 sec) -->
18-layer metapyramid (366 sec) -->
18-layer stochastic wavelet decomposition, or "punch-out", as i've come to call the effect (366 sec) -->
inverse haar wavelet transform (366 sec) -->
converted to .wav file (366 sec) -->
converted to 96 kbps mono mp3 (366 sec)
