Story behind the song
I happened to meet Megan while she was working an early shift at Claire's and she wanted me to make a song for her. I did, and this is why I should probably never be hired to make commercial jingles.
Lyrics
I couldn't tell that you're a year older 'Cept the calander's torn of the wall I got some boxed champagne and cigarettes Let's paint the town red, let's have a ball And in case you couldn't tell And in case you could, oh well We're dirt poor, but we're still having fun Can I have a piece of birthday cake Evne though it'll make my stomach sore Can I tell you something really frustrating? Everyone says that you're a... daddy's littl girl ... it took me five minutes to write this song If the next one comes and I'm not here Don't fly off into a rage I'm probably at the bar, chugging beer In the alley 'cos I'm underage ... this probably isn't a very good birthday song My dad was right all along I should probably get a real job So I can by my friends birthday cake And serve it on china plates [more lyrics coming soon]
