Story behind the song

The instrumental background music to the spoken part of "Ollie's Kids" that recalls the names of some of the children murdered by the Reagan-Bush administration thru the proxy Contras and Death Squads in Central America in the 1980's..  There's about a 10 second silence between the translation of Spanish till the music begins..  

The picture is of a make shift morgue in the village of San Gregio, Nicaruagua after an attack by contras killed innocnet people..  the bodies in the caskets are some of the children killed in the attack..

An estimated 30,000 people in Nicaruagua were killed in the Contra "war".. (thousands were children) mostly in senseless attacks on villages, schools, clinics, farming communities, public transportation and other "soft" targets"..  (The contras also imported cocaine into the USA as documented by former DEA agent Celerino Castillo  http://www.powderburns.org/)..

Unknown numbers of innocent people were killed by The Death Squads and US backed military in  Salvador..

The estimated 30,000 people killed in Nicarugua would be the equivalent of 1.5 million in the US population..
