A story of two separate souls who are made as one by their love and by the power of God. Special thanks to my friend Mel Stefanson for her music and vocals that brought this lyric to life. See story behind the song for more

Story behind the song
I met Mel on an internet lyric writting forum and we soon became good friends. One day Mel was wondering what song she was going to sing for her parents 50th wedding anniversary. Ironicaly I had just been in my sisters wedding and was intrigued by the symbolism of lighting the unity candle. The day Mel mentioned this, God through a commercial on tv, reminded me of the concept and the lyric was born. Mel came up with the music and it turned out to be the perfect gift for her parents 50th.
Lyrics
Dear it seems not so far When we stood at the altar I shared my vows with you I gave my love to you And as we held our candles Touching flames at the mantle We were one, no longer two When we said the words I do And like two candles far apart Drawn together in the dark Chorus: We were two dim flames Made into one grand light Brought together by God Never to be apart We were two dim flames Made into one grand light Fifty years later…. Still burning bright Dear I’ll always remember Like the first day of summer The first time I saw you The first time I kissed you The time we spent together Drew our hearts much closer We’d be one, no longer two I knew know one else would do And like two candles far apart Drawn together by a spark chorus Bridge: Through all these years we stayed true We meant it when we said I do No wind or storm or doubt Will ever blow our flame out chorus

The lyrics to this song are beautiful! It grows on you more and more each time you listen. Great job to you and Mel! I don't think I have ever actually heard a 50th anniversary song. Love the melody. Rosie
