Ragged Old Boots
Comment Share
this is a song about an Australian soldier who fought in the battle at Gallipolli. It tells of his life through the comparison to his boots, from when he joined the army to when he retired.

not a band, just me. A talented singer with a flair for song writing. Hoping to have an album out by the end of 2007.
Hello Im Juliette Jazz and I'm a singer from Australia. I've sung with orchestras, bands, trio, duos, karaoke, flim flams, solo, and theatre productions. Im currently working on an album of my own original songs. I have written over 70 lyrics, but as I am not a musician, I am constantly seeking composers and musicians to collaborate with me in turning my words into great songs.

Story behind the song
I got the idea to write this song, after watching the ANZAC Day parade and felt enormous pride in our old diggers.
Lyrics
RAGGED OLD BOOTS CH: Crumpled leather Thrown by the door Dirty laces Frayed and torn Spiders weaving Their webs inside Ragged old boots Once worn with pride. V1. Down in the trenches Covered in dirt Fighting a war That no-one deserved V2. Spit and polished Marching proud Stomp to attention For cheering crowds CH: Crumpled leather Thrown by the door Dirty laces Frayed and torn Spiders weaving Their webs inside Ragged old boots Once worn with pride. V3. Retired officer Still marches on Anzac Day Salutes the throng V4. Shrivelled gent Wheelchair bound Crippled feet Make no sound. CH: Crumpled leather Thrown by the door Dirty laces Frayed and torn Spiders weaving Their webs inside Ragged old boots Once worn with pride.
