Singer/songwriter, Indie self-recorded: Wm Perry writes & performs tight, well-crafted songs. Honest & not boring, sometimes disturbing, with jangled-y edges. T
"I approach the writing of songs as if it's the only tool I have, with which to do something I don't understand." BIOGRAPHY: Failed. Kept moving. Your typical starving artist story. BFA from the Art Institute of Chicago, followed by several years in the Sign Industry. Front man in a multitude of short-lived bands, playing in clubs and warehouses in Chicago and LA's artsy, marginal war-zone neighborhoods. Now solo artist, self-recording. Bought a cheap, old house on Craig's List (without seeing it first!) and moved from Chicago to Cincinnati, an "economic refugee" you could say. Now completing renovations that make four floors of combined living/studio space and working on new music.

Lyrics
Dodge - William McGuffey Perry I used to live in Dodge but I got out I sold the tracks I made They led right up to your house A man may knock upon your door But it won’t me be knockin’ no more I used to live in Dodge but I got out I’m never quite as happy when I’m sad And Society’s to blame For that business with my dad Think of me as pretty weak But pretty’s not so bad I’m never quite as happy when I’m sad You get a lot by grabbing in your reach You can learn the stuff that no one wants to teach Well you might as well start laughing now It’s a long way to the beach You get a lot by grabbing in your reach I had a free lunch once and it was nice Now strangers hassle me about it Man, they say, just take my advice Well the thing you describe may happen But it’ll never happen twice I had a free lunch once and it was nice I used to live in Dodge but I got out I sold the tracks I laid They led right up to your house (fade) A man may knock upon your door But it won’t me be knockin’ no more I used to live in Dodge but I got out
