Story behind the song
my mom used to live in Portlan, OR when i was 7-9 and the first time i went up to visit her i stayed for about 3 months and on the day that i was leaving she gave me a letter and this song is almost word for word from the letter that she gave me. (the first lyric takes place in present day, though)
Lyrics
You're sitting on my bedroom floor with your guitar and i can't help but see how happy you are & despite the car problems, we did manage to have some fun. I've become so used to you being here everyday, it seem like you've been here so long and yet the time flys by so quickly. Texas is a ways away, but after school i'm coming home. I think about you everyday. There's a different frame in every room. To see your face positioned so; the laugh is there, and yet it's gone and in less than 12 hour... you will be gone. It was just some things you needed unpacked. Your pounding footsteps running through the hall; they're just two of the things that i'm going to miss when you're gone...
