Hi I'm Noel and I write poetry, ballads, and lyrics. The songs here are collaborations I've taken part in. I mostly either only write the lyric or collaborate on the lyric but occasionally I will do a melody too. If you are interested in using any of the songs here, please feel free to contact me. I am also looking for songwriters who are interested in my kind of lyrics to collaborate with.

Lyrics
The Grey with Wings Upon His Feet by Noel Downs ã copyright He stood there on that lonely beach, So proud so strong and sleek, My very true and trusted friend, The grey with wings upon his feet, With both eyes ablaze like fires, Burning in the night, His muscled body rippled, To give a hint of all his might, Then he turned his head towards me, Deep inside my heart it sang, To his side I stepped in close, Upon his back I sprang, And off we raced at break neck speed, Along the golden beach, Me and my trusted friend, The grey with wings upon his feet, We galloped over the hard flat sands, Flying faster with every stride, Bounding over the sandy hills, Me and my friend only I can ride, He has never worn a saddle, And a bit he will never feel, For control I use a whispered word, Or a touch from either heel, He sent the salt spray flying from the shallows, And we swam together when it got deep, Me and my trusted friend, The grey with wings upon his feet, Then back across the sandy dunes, Searching every place, With the wind so fast did it whistle past, That the tears run down my face, Then suddenly we are on a cliff, And out my friend does leap, We clear the nearest snow white cloud, And land back on the beach, Only a small bound that time, Of about one hundred feet, For my very true and trusted friend, The grey with wings upon his feet, I lay along his strong arched neck, Holding firm on silken mane, I think back on our other rides, And find that no two are the same, Although strong and powerful that he is, With hard bone and nerves of steel, My friend he is so meek and mild, Fear of him is something that I will never feel, We raced and flew and raced again, All over the sandy beach, There is only me and my trusted friend, The grey with wings upon his feet, But then somewhere from a place a far, I hear my mother's call, "Noel Noel where are you Noel? "Your suppers getting cold", The spell is broke the dream is lost, Off my bed I swing to go down stairs and eat, "I'll be back again my trusted friend", I say to the grey with wings upon his feet.
