RETRO pop songs --- from another millennium and another galaxy.
My name's Pete. from Birmingham in UK-land. Nice to meet you ! I made a lot of very varied popsongs in the pre-digital age. I say they're McCartneyish, as I don't know how to categorize them. Allsorts. The description I use is RETRO I'm really a songwriter who wants others to perform these songs. So please bear that in mind as you grimace at my efforts to be acceptable. I'm especially concerned to write good lyrics, and if you do ever give some time to my stuff, I hope you will click to the lyrics and read those also. They don't come easy, you know. I'm plonking my songs here to give them a home, in the hope you might think they're not too bad. In fact, in the hope that you'll snap them up and I'll become an instant overnight megastar multi-millionaire. But failing that, I hope that you just like them. And if you do like one - I'd especially like it if you told me so. We all need strokes, eh ? Cheers ! Pete Songs-in-a-Bottle

Lyrics
love is set in stone, it will last forever that is how naive and how sure I was now I am alone, and, despite endeavour, I do not believe any more, because ... I thought the breeze would roll on and could never be cold to me staying warm for eternity oh but I didn't see that the winds like to sweep to and fro as they find somewhere different to blow and exactly one lover ago I believed you loved me I thought the colours in heaven were bright and could never end they were my everlasting friend oh but I didn't see that the sun can but fade in its glow as it tires of the same old rainbow and exactly one lover ago I believed you loved me how inexperienced caring and childishly trusting I've been how immature and simplistic and stupid and gullibly green I thought that rivers all run from the glistening mountain-top just one way and they never stop and they flow constantly but on reaching the valleys below waters find somewhere different to flow and exactly one lover ago I believed you loved me I thought the moon and the stars and the sun were forever above I didn't see the uncertain, ephemeral nature of love I thought the play I was playing in was an eternal one the performance would always run oh but I didn't see I was simply the fool not to know there is always an end to the show and exactly one lover ago I believed you loved me
