RETRO pop songs --- from another millennium and another galaxy.
My name's Pete. from Birmingham in UK-land. Nice to meet you ! I made a lot of very varied popsongs in the pre-digital age. I say they're McCartneyish, as I don't know how to categorize them. Allsorts. The description I use is RETRO I'm really a songwriter who wants others to perform these songs. So please bear that in mind as you grimace at my efforts to be acceptable. I'm especially concerned to write good lyrics, and if you do ever give some time to my stuff, I hope you will click to the lyrics and read those also. They don't come easy, you know. I'm plonking my songs here to give them a home, in the hope you might think they're not too bad. In fact, in the hope that you'll snap them up and I'll become an instant overnight megastar multi-millionaire. But failing that, I hope that you just like them. And if you do like one - I'd especially like it if you told me so. We all need strokes, eh ? Cheers ! Pete Songs-in-a-Bottle

Story behind the song
just a song, you know
Lyrics
I thought love served no purpose I thought love was absurd then you gave it a meaning now I bless the word ... once I thought that love was just like lemon-curd I thought love was just a stupid word now it spells much better each and every letter now what really matters is your love once I thought that love was sickly-sweet and trite more a sad affliction than delight now all my affection points in one direction now what really matters is your love way, way up high, there were stars in the sky I like a fool couldn't see but I was wrong to believe in a song sung like an old threnody long, long ago when my brain didn't know my deadened eyes didn't see now crystal clear from a high chandelier love beams its gleams down on me once I thought that love was deeply unprofound empty noise and irritating sound now "them bad old blues" is all romantic muses now what really matters is your love now what really matters is your love your love your love
