Recuerdos de Alhambra

My rendition of Francisco Tárrega's 'Memories of Alhambra'. Tárrega is also known as the Sarasate of The Guitar (from Pablo Sarasate, a Spanish violin virtuoso of the late 19th Century).

Hello World!, I say WELCOME. I'm a 57 years old classic rock fan and musician. For the most part I only do covers of classic rock and folk songs but am known from slipping in an occasional ballad or instrumental here and there too.

Story behind the song
Every aspiring guitarrist (at least those who like me begun their music education through a Spanish Classic Guitar) comes to meet Tárrega's challenging 'tremolo' classic. Many people when hearing this beautiful song for the first time think of it as done by a duet... but no, this is played with only one hand - and it requires a highly skilled one at that. Recuerdos de Alhambra showcases the heavy Arabic influence in Spanish culture, a result of being invaded by the Moors in the 8th Century. As noted above, Recuerdos is traditionally played with a single guitarist. For this recording though I did two tracks separately - my right hand fingernails are not to the required length to do this properly. I owe you all on that one!
